How Dearlly works
Everything you can send and do, in a few steps each. Writing is free, and nobody needs an account to open what you send.
1.Send a love note
- Tap Write. Start from one of our quotes, or write your own words.
- Add their name, what you call them, a paper colour and, if you like, a photo.
- Choose "Keep it sealed until" to have it open at a set time, like midnight on their birthday. Leave it empty to open straight away.
- Tap Seal it. You'll log in or create a free account at this step; your letter is kept while you do.
- Send the private link on WhatsApp, copy it, or have us email it to them.
2.What they see
- They open the link: no account and no app needed.
- A sealed envelope waits for them. They tap it to break the wax seal and the letter comes out.
- They can save it as a picture or a PDF, and seal a reply.
- You see when it was opened, and their reply, under Your letters on your profile.
3.Invite them on a date
- Choose a city and the kind of date, then pick a place from our list (each shows the guides that recommend it), or type your own.
- Set the date and time, and add a note, like what to wear.
- They answer Yes, or try to say No. The No button runs away.
- When they say yes, they get directions to the place.
4.Plan a trip for two
- Say where you're going and when.
- Seal it and send it. They open the news like a letter and answer "Let's go!"
5.Reveal a gift
- Describe the gift and add a hint, like "Something you've wanted for months". Add a photo of it if you like.
- The gift hides under a stamp. They scratch it off with a finger to see it (or tap to reveal it).
- They answer with a reaction, like "I love it!"
6.Send it as a secret admirer
- Love notes can be sent without your name: they see "A secret admirer".
- You can send up to 3 secret letters a day, and they can block secret letters from you with one tap.
- Reveal your name whenever you're ready, from Your letters.
7.Play a game for two
- Tap Games, pick a game and how many rounds, then tap Create game. You both need a free account.
- Send them the link, or they type the 6-letter game code under "Have a code?".
- Play on your own phones, wherever you both are. You each answer privately, and the answers are revealed together.
- Chat as you go. Whoever started the game moves on to the next question.
- At the end, share or save your result card.
8.Post to Our Stamp
- Our Stamp is for Dearlly members only: it isn't public or on Google.
- Tap Post a stamp: a photo and a caption.
- Like the ones that make you smile. The most loved stamp of the week becomes the Top post of the week.
9.Keep track of your letters
- Your profile shows the letters you've sent: when each was opened and their reply.
- Copy a letter's link again, or open it to see it as they do.
- Changed your mind? Take it back: its link stops working straight away.
Questions
Is Dearlly free?
Yes. Writing, sending, opening and playing are all free.
Who can see what I send?
Only people with the private link. Letters are never shown on Google, and you can take a letter back at any time.
Does the other person need an account?
Not to open a letter or answer it. For games, you both need a free account.
Who is Dearlly for?
Adults, 18 and over.
What happens to my photos?
Hidden details, like where a photo was taken, are removed, and every photo is checked before anyone sees it. Photos are stored privately and shown only through letters and stamps.
Someone sent me something I didn't want. What can I do?
Every letter has Report this letter. Emails from Dearlly let you stop letters from that sender, or stop all emails from us. Secret admirer letters can be blocked with one tap.
How do I delete my account?
On your profile, under Delete my account. Everything you made goes with it.
